Lifu Ishtene is the debut film of Pawan Kumar as a director. Earlier he used to work as an assistant director with Yograj Bhat. The film is all about a guy (Diganth as Vishal) who falls in love with many girls in his career right from school days & all of them ditch him. Picturisation of the movie is too good, especially the shooting of the songs in Leh & Ladak is awesome. Music, song lyrics & choreography is also good. But the movie is very slow, lack of energy, less comedy. The first half has some comedy & songs, so it goes well, second half is kinda boring. Diganth has done good acting & delivered good natural dialogues with lively performance. Editing is done well. As its the directors first movie, it has some flaws, but its a good start for him.

I wanted to purchase a Droid phone & my budget was 10-15k, so I was looking for a lower mid-range smart phone, after researching on internet & also using my friend's phone for one day I decided to buy this phone. Its been more than 15 days & I am liking the phone very much. Below I am listing the pros & cons of the phone, based on this one can decide on whether they want to go with this phone or not.

Pros:
* Android Phone for an affordable price, its a real value for money.
* Feature rich & Fast, Android 2.2 Froyo, though there is no official release of Android 2.3 Gingerbread for this phone, but unofficial upgrade is available on internet
* Comes with black & white panels & with 2GB mem card for free.

Cons:
* Camera quality is not so great
* No front camera, you cannot do face to face video 3G call
* With Android 2.2, battery life sucks, but with Android 2.3, battery life is much better.
* Backward compatibility for some devices not available, for Ex, I have a Samsung bluetooth headset which I am still not able to connect to my new phone, it used to work very well with my old Nokia N73
* The headset which has the control for FM does'nt have button for changing the FM station or moving to a next song or to stop the song, ... If you want to change the FM radio station then you need to unlock the phone & change the FM station thru the FM Radio application.

Over all its a good mid range smart phone which is really worth the money you pay. We can say its a higher mid range smart phone for a lower mid range price :-)

Jogayya is the sequel of the 2005 blockbuster movie Jogi. This movie is the hat-trick hero Shivarajkumar's 100th movie. Prem has tried to do the same as Uppi's "Super" movie. Uppi has show how the horse trading is done in politics in the movie Super & Prem in this Jogayya movie has shown about the BSY's, Reddy brothers & Kumaraswamy's allegations on acquiring farmer's land in the name of Global Investor Meet, illegal way of wooing the voters. Funny parts in the movie are Yeddiyurappa wiping his face with towel when something does'nt go in his way & Kumaraswamy distributing sarees to get the votes :-)

After the "hoDi maga" rowdyism in the movie Jogi, here Jogayya realizes the sentiments of the people & stops rowdyism & goes to Mumbai to lead a peaceful life with earning money just for food & clothes. He will be looking at the cattle in a rich Belagavi Kannadiga family in Mumbai. The owner's daughter looking at his behavior, simplicity, sincere & helping nature falls in love with him. Once he will be trying to escape to Dubai with his newly made friends in Mumbai & he gets caught by the Karnataka police, coz using his name the existing underworld dons in Bengaluru have created a lot of mess in Bangalore. Later the Belagavi girl helps him to get out of all legal hassels with the help of the lawyer Pooja Gandhi. After getting out of the court Jogayya throws a shocking dialogue "Bengaluru is mine, i still own the underworld ..." For what happens next, watch the movie :-)

The first half of the movie has comedy & nice songs, so you will enjoy & time passes till the interval without notice of the time. The second half has lot of violence. In one of the scene Jogayya goes in to a killing spree holding the Machchu (long sharp wepon) & killing huge number of people. The cameraman Nandakumar has done a good job. Editing, special effects, graphics are well done in the songs & actions.

Overall, its a good family entertainer except for some violence in the second half. All the songs are good, especially "Kuri koLina somavara shanivara koiyyangilla ... " .

Its worth the movie to watch once with family.

ING Vysya Bank Ltd.

Vysya was very old Bengaluru based company started in 1930, which later got merged to a Dutch bank ING in the year 2002.  Here in this post I am going to share my experience with the bank. I have not dealt with the savings bank, so I cannot share the experience on that. I have taken home loan from ING Vysya, so I can share experience on that.


It was in the month of Oct 2007 I took a loan from this bank for a tenure of 20 Yrs. I had to go with this bank as I was not eligible for loan in other Nationalized Banks for the amount of loan which I took. I did enquire with other private banks & this bank offered me 10.25% which was around .25% less than other private banks. Also the processing was easy as already few people for the same apartment had taken a loan from this bank. But let me first begin with advising the people to never go for a private bank for loans.


Here are the pros & cons of the bank for home loan:


Cons:

• High interest rates, the increase of interest rates happens immediately when there is any change in the RBI rates. If there is an increase of 25 basis points by RBI, then ING will increase the ROI by 0.5%, when there is a decrease by RBI by 50 basis points, then ING might decrease by only 0.25%. So effectively your ROI keeps on increasing.
• Prepayment policy is very bad. You can do the prepayment any number of times, but here are the clauses ... 
• Prepayment amount has to be a minimum of 3 EMIs. For Ex. If your EMI is 25k, then if you want to do a prepayment, then the minium amount of prepayment should be 75k
• In any financial year, you cannot do a prepayment of more than 25% of your outstanding principal. For Ex. if your outstanding principal amount is 20L beginning of April 2011, then for the FY2011-2012, i.e. till March 2012, you can only do a prepayment of 5L, for the amount more than 5L, you have to pay the 3% + Service Tax.
• Prepayments can only be done after the full & final disbursement of the loan amount.
• The effect of the interest in system will be done from next cycle date and same will be reflected in the system next to next month.
• If reschedulement is on 25.03.2011, the interest benefit to that tune will effect from 08.04.2011 billing cycle onwards which will be due on 08.05.2011 (Which is the new EMI amount).
• Penalties will be charged, if the part payment is made within 12 months prior to closure date. While closure of the loan, part payment made prior to 12 months will be considered for foreclosure charges. E.g.: Outstanding 1 lac + 5 lacs made during 12 months. 6 lac will be considered for foreclosure Charges at 3%+ service tax
• Foreclosure charges is very high as compared to other banks, its 3% + Service Tax
• No net banking facility, if you want to do a prepayment, you first need to take an approval, write a request letter & once you get the approval, you need to go to the Bank's Consumer Finance Department & submit the cheque/DD with the request letter.

Pros:

• You can get the loan easily without much hassles.
• You can get the provisional certificate for the amount of interest paid & the principal amount for tax exemption thru email, no need to go to the bank to collect it.

KENT GRAND+ Water Purifier

KENT GRAND+, a water purifier which has RO + UF + UV + TDS control.

Have been using this product from past 2 months & very happy with the quality of water. Though the customer service is not that great, the taste of water from this water purifier compensates all the negatives.

Ease of use: Good

Taste of water: Excellent

Style & Design: Good

Service & support: Poor

Earlier we were using the canned water (20 ltr can), the quality & purification of the water was so bad, finally we decided to buy a water purifier which would also do the RO. Since I tasted the water purified by KENT in my friend's house, i felt it was good & we also bought KENT GRAND+ We are very much happy with the quality & taste of water so far.

Pros:

* Quality & taste of water is too good

* Design & look of the unit is good

* Low power consumption

* 8 ltr water tank, cleaning is easy

Cons:

* No good customer service

* Almost 40% of the water is exhaust

* Water level indicator is not visible clearly

Purchased for ~ 10k in military canteen in New Delhi.

* Design & style & options for different colors is very good

* Has 3 USB ports & a HDMI port

* Dell support is good

Cons:

* Touch pad is bad, some times it does'nt work well

* Battery is ok, does'nt last for long

* Keypad is ok, its very soft, not as hard as the IBM Lenovo keypads

Price I had purchased for in April 2010 was 39,800/-

AO Smith EWS Water Heater / Geyser

AO Smith is an American based electric company which has residential & commercial products. The water heater or geyser comes with different models & here the review is about the popular EWS model which has 6, 10, 15 & 25 liters water heaters.

I have both 15 & 25 liters water heaters, using it from past 1 year. The good thing about this geyser is, it has a ceramic coating inside hence it prevents from erosion & also avoids the salt deposition on the coil if we use bore well water. Its a 4 star energy saver, so power consumption is less. But since it has ceramic coating, it takes little more power than the conventional ones. The style & design is too good, it has a colored cap for which you can choose different colors based on your wall paint.

Fits well for multi storied apartments. There is no horizontal version of this model. The 15 liters heater will fit in perfectly inside the false ceiling of the standard bathrooms, but the 25 liters heater it little bigger, hence the pipes will come down from the false ceiling & will be easily visible. Since the style & design of this heater is very good, it looks good for non false ceiling based bathrooms.

Other features include temperature control, LED indicator for status, automatic switch off after heating. We have been using this heater from past 1+ year & so far not even a single complaint. Overall its a good water heater.

15 liters : 6000/- INR

Sahib Sindh Sultan is a North Indian Cuisine restaurant from BJN Group of restaurants located in Forum Mall, Kormangala, Bengaluru. It has a very good ambience of the train & the platform. There are tables inside the train & the platform. The food is very good but its too expensive. A tandoori roti will cost 50 bucks !!
